Parlour Press is a Multi Award Winning Publishing house, that started as a labour of love in the parlour of a little weaver's cottage in West Wales, home to Founder and Director, Cheryl Beer. Since the first book 18 years ago, Parlour Press has gone on to support literally 1000's of writers through creative writing and publishing workshops, courses and one to one. As an author herself, Cheryl has travelled the world mentoring new & existing writers of all ages & abilities, empowering them to explore creative writing through her innovative and inspiring techniques. Having now published a staggering 65 books with Community based groups and organisations, Parlour Press has become one of the most productive and yet likely the least known, Independent Publishers in Wales.
Amongst its accolades, Parlour Press has won 2 Youth Excellence Awards from the Welsh Assembly, Best Practice at the International Mental Health Conference from Cambridge University, and an Outstanding Contribution from the University of South Wales. Cheryl herself was presented with a National Gold Award and was Welsh Woman of the Year Finalist for her contribution to Culture & this year, won an Excellence in Creative Media Award & Significant Contribution to the Arts. |
